Redding, CA Among Top Ten Trout Towns USA…

According to Field & Stream Magazine Redding is ranked #5 in the Top 10 Trout Towns in America.

Of course, many of us already suspected that. And, we would argue that Redding should be even higher on the list. For the simple fact that many of our premiere fisheries are open all year around… and we actually have decent enough climate to fly fish 12 months a year.

Now, if there were a list that wasn’t limited to just trout fishing then no doubt - Redding is #1 on that list. Simply because in the Sacramento River system alone (which flows right through the middle of our city) we have:

• wild trout (big ones)

• steelhead

• salmon

• stripers

• bass

• American shad

But I digress. Those who know what northern California offers in terms of amazing fishing opportunities - knows what we have. We don’t need any further substantive accolades than a bent rod on Monday and nobody else around.
